| With their scores in their first matches of the season, the fans of the Houston Astros weren't optimistic about what their team can achieve. Couple of months later, the Houston Astros team was able to change their position in the score board and was able to achieve six winnings in a row. Before the last game against St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros was able to beat the Brewers in a very exciting game. This Monday, Astros met St. Louis Cardinals in Busch Stadium and was able to finish the match with a score of 9 - 4, despite their stumbled start at the beginning of the match. The weather was very hot and the humidity was suffocating but, the Astros team was determinant to win the game and they were able to modify the score in the eight and the ninth. Brad Mills, the Astros Manager, was happy with the result and praised the performance of his players during the match. He said that his team members were supporting each other in the field and that reflected directly on the final score of the game. The reason of the Manager's happiness was the successful trade off of his former players Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt. He also changed the lineup of his team and yielded great results from doing this. The Berkman trade with two young players from the Yankees and the Astros paid 4 million dollars to complete the deal. After that deal, the age range of the Houston team became younger and their performance is now is more energetic. St. Louis Cardinals found the way to their first home loss against Houston Astros. Although St. Louis was heading but, the Astros managed to win the lead 5 - 4 during the eighth before they continue their way with another 4 points in the ninth to the final score 9 - 4. Houston Astros surprised everyone with their last win as the Cardinals did not lose a home match this season but, Houston did not and made their sixth win in a row with score 9 - 4 although they were lagging behind until the eighth were the score started to change. Keppinger was very happy with that win and he was even happier because his team members are now more supportive to each other in the field. He also linked all of this to the new spirit of the team that occurred after the arrival of the two young players as they are doing their best to prove their abilities in the field. He also said that the up was perfect and has a role in this winning. Keppinger was thrilled and linked the winning to the up of his team. He mentioned that the young players of his team were eager to prove themselves in the pitch. He also stated that they are improving from one match to another. Basically, the lineup of the Astros changed completely and that was the reason of their continuous winning. Brett Myers, the Astros pitcher, was one of the main reasons behind this winning. Myers had just signed his new contract on Sunday and then he performed marvelously throughout the game with three hits, three runs and he struck out four batters in six innings. These numbers are considered a franchise record to start this new season with. Many fans have stated that the team had seen this change since the Lance Berkman / Roy Oswalt trades. Since the franchise icons' trades and the team had seen a lot of enthusiasm and improved its teamwork immensely. Most fans stated that if this team spirit continued then the Astros will have a leading position on the score board this season. The best thing about the Astros winnings is that they are because of team work and not because of dependence on one player. The fans were really excited about the game, the score and the new attitude of their beloved team. Many of them mentioned that this new team spirit appeared after the tradeoffs and the arrival of the new players from the Yankees. The up also had its role in this change that brought six winnings in a row. | |
